Get set, go! Here comes Term 2.

Storytelling Schools has another busy term ahead and we can’t wait to welcome new teachers to training and to our storytelling teacher network.

Top 5 things we are excited about are: 1. Bringing Introduction & Induction training events to Auckland, Tauranga & Palmerston North in June. Book now and look out for a few lucky freebies in your mailbox. storytellingschools.co.nz 2. Beginning another round of Advanced training with teachers who have been using the method, loved the results, and want to pursue excellence in their own delivery.

Our enterprise is about teacher expertise in language & literacy. Advanced teachers lead the way in growing a supportive network where teachers learn from and share their storytelling ways.

3. Talking to Early educators taking a first look at the Storytelling Schools way of learning and teaching. It’s such an obvious choice for our babes, toddlers and pre-schoolers.

A play-based approach helps to deepen story learning, whether for retelling, innovation or new story invention. In Storytelling Schools students of all ages engage in creative and imaginative play. Good storytelling teachers infuse story learning with rich multi-sensory experiences.

4. Launching our members only page on our website- coming soon.

Here, teachers who have participated in our training, will be able to download story plans, non-fiction text exemplars, additional resources and view in-class galleries.

5. Plans and preparations for Dr Chris Smiths Spring visit to NZ are taking shape. This will include a celebration of and further learning for our pilot schools.
