Our Story

Storytelling methodologies are proven to accelerate spoken language and communication. Over many years, we have researched and visited schools using story immersion methods to ignite and anchor their literacy learning pedagogy. (Talk 4 Writing, Helicopter Stories, Storytelling Schools UK, and Storyline Int.) 

Across Canterbury and beyond, schools have adopted our storytelling ways. We have developed a culturally responsive practice that offers inclusion, literacy acceleration, and fills the knowledge gap. What began with 5 pilot schools and a period of inquiry, has morphed into a community of storytelling schools and teachers who sustain and benefit from the magic, wit, and wonder of teaching and learning the storytelling way.

I believe it is a wonderful and much-needed way to change children from non-writers into writers and creative artists, especially in areas of social deprivation. It empowers children!
