About the event
Join us for a fun-filled day, learning to teach and support learning the 'storytelling way.' Our method is holistic and supports all of the principles of Te Whariki, with 'communication' held at the centre. We explain why and how language and communication when carried and learned through 'story', spin 'magic threads' for learner advantage and engagement across the curriculum. With oral storytelling and story-reading at the heart of early education, you can enrich children's spoken language, support emergent literacy, and extend the possibilities within play-based learning. Â Teaching and learning the storytelling way targets executive function and oral language development, the fundamentals that lead to later success in learning and life skills.
Across Canterbury and beyond, schools are adopting our storytelling pedagogy and teaching model. Learning to be a storytelling teacher is a route to excellence in literacy teaching. Take the first step to forging a pedagogical partnership with schools and other early education providers in your local region.
