Our take-a-look-day enables educators from early education, primary and intermediate/high school settings to take a first look at teaching the storytelling way. Firstly we focus on the 'language revival' and the foundational need for literacy across all ages and stages. We share how 'the storytelling way' is a magic stardust of sorts. Then, we explain how, with clever curriculum design, to weave across the curriculum with stories. We demonstrate how to deliver the 'understand' know & do' in history, social studies, science and more, for a pathway to the critical literacies of active, involved citizens. Together, we will explore oral language needs and unpack the impact of declining oracy on all aspects of learner literacy. Through explanation and immediate practice, we will share with you our teaching model which is highly successful in accelerating learner progress in Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing. The method harnesses both the power of stories and the science of learning. If you have an interest in offering a rich literary experience, growing creativity, supporting play-based learning and putting content back into learning, then this training is for you. The day is packed with practical activities that can be put to immediate use and start you on the storytelling way to better learning and teaching.
